A Little Rain. A little Salt.

Busy and chaotic day, lots of little issues causing big delays.

To start we walked down the Salzburg mainstreet to the home Composer Mozart lived. However it was closed due to mysterious reasons. So we walked a short distance away to his place of birth, and saw some of his own personal artifacts, from his violin, to a lock of his hair, jewelry, a replica of his piano and more. (Original was being restored). It was neato. The picture in the Post thumbnail is the replica.

Next we tried going to the massive Salzburg Fortress on the hill, but it was so crowded, so we decided to head a ways south to the mountainous town of Berchtesgaden to view the salt mine, as I did just over 10 year ago! Still just as salty! Except for all the salt that has been mined since then. Salt was first dug there in 1517, and is still actively being mined today, without interruption for over 5 centuries! 🧂

Then we took a walk down (up) the hill to the city center to see the lovely Advent Market is they call it in this region. Unfortunately the day was so foggy and overcast, the usually beautiful mountains were mostly hidden away. After that we made our way back to Salzburg.

And as always, here are the pictures!
