Well I got up with my grand plans, and looked out the window. Clouds and fog. I proceeded with my plans anyway hoping the day would get better. So I took a trip again down to Königssee (King’s Lake). Still cloudy and foggy. This time, I did not go to St. Bartholomä’s Church, the unique far away red-round roof’ed church. I went past that down the 8km lake to the end to Salet. Basically a shack at the end southern end of the lake. You then walk through amazing beautiful scenery, big valleys, soaring mountains, beautiful Alpine terrain – that is… if you could see it. And I could, because thank God the clouds cleared up right when our boat passed the church. It became sunny and cloudless, and the view of the valley is stunning. A little ways further down is the even more beautiful Obersee, (Over/Above Lake) Sheer cliffs on one side, and a narrow dangerous mountain path on the other. And a ways past a swampy muddy slimy path of muddy oozing wet mud is the Röthbachfall – Germany’s tallest waterfall. The whole landscape is simply amazing. And because there were no clouds, it was completely clear! Except for a very strange and mysterious thin layer of fog that sort of hovered in the air. I’ll try and include a picture. I spent a long time walking around, and the boat ride one way is 1 hour, and by the time I got back it was already getting pretty late. I wanted to get to the Eagle’s Nest again, but there was little time left in the day. My trip is quickly running out of time, and I must move on! Double sad.
