Valley Town, Switzerlandville

Well I didn’t do much today except trick a billionaire into giving me every single dollar he has, which gave me barely enough to afford a train ticket to the next town. (Even the man in the ticket office agreed that the trains in Switzerland are incredibly expensive when I expressed shock at the price.) Funnily enough, while waiting around the train station I ran into my tour guide, Franz, from yesterday. But unlike last night where it was literally just me, this time he had over a dozen people with him.

The train ride through the valleys of Switzerland is quite a sight, part of the train ride was re-doing the ride to Zermatt, before forking off slightly. It’s quite beautiful, especially when I made it to the town of Grindelwald. It’s absolutely stunning, seeing the old Alpine town, with massive sheer mountains just off in the distance. Anyways, I just walked back and forth down the main street for some shopping before a day full of action and adventure tomorrow. Grindelwald apparently receives a very high volume of Asian tourists as well, I saw very very many, and even my hotel hangs only the Korean, Japanese and Chinese flags from the building, with the Swiss flag on a pole off to the side. Many signs, labels and instructions around town, and even fancy wood cut signs are in what was either Chinese or Japanese. (With English and Swiss German of course!)

On the plus side, the Matterhorn was completely clear this morning, with no little clouds covering the tip!
