Well it was a bitter sweet day second to last day in Germany. The 1% sweet was still pretty cool. Along the northeast coast of the island of Rügen is the ‘Kleinbahn’ or little train. It is a really neat old fashion steam engine train which I used to get to the nearby town of Sellin, another cool pleasant beach resort on the ocean. It also has a really cool raised restaurant over the sand/sea depending on the tide. At the end of the dock is a large pod thing that you can go in and it takes you under the surface, like a theme park observation deck ride, but this one goes down. Though it is closed about 4 days a week. Today was one of those 4 days.
After returning to Binz on the little train, I grabbed my stuff and headed towards the main train station for my last train to Berlin, where I am now back at the same hostel I started my journey on. I spent a long time watching the sun set on the train through the country side. Tomorrow I head back west with a lengthy pitstop (a whole day) then back to the US. It has been a magical trip and I hope to return someday…soon. I’ve had to mail home literally several large boxes home full of souvenirs and stuff. When I return I will work on a slide show, it will likely be fairly long, I haven’t really checked, but I think I am around 8000 photos. I’ve posted probably under 500 on this blog. Of course the show won’t contain all of them, or it’d be like 3 days long. But I will find a website to dump every single picture, so anyone can see all of them, since all I have posted here is just the highlights, and a limited number at that. I will post all that info here within a week or 2.
