My Last Resort

Insert sad face here. It was a very eventful day where absolutely nothing happened, except getting to my next stop…which took 7 and a half hours.

-25 minute walk from Heide Park to bus stop
-took bus from stop back to town of Schneverdingen
-from Schneverdingen took next train to Bucholz
-took connecting train from Bucholz back to Hamburg
-tool next train from Hamburg far east to Rostock (going directly through Schwerin, one of the stops I had to cut off. It has a beautiful castle on an island in a lake).
-took next train from Rostock to Lietzow on the island of Rügen, of the north eastern coast of Germany
-then took final train from Lietzow to my final stop of Ostseebad Binz (ohst – zay – bahd bints, eastern sea bath of Binz). Normally everyone just calls it Binz. Which also happens to be the last town I will be visiting as the trip reaches the end.

The DeutscheBahn (German railway service) put out a priceless app that tells you which trains to take at what time between any 2 cities in Germany. It includes bus paths and others.

It got very dark very quickly, but it is a picturesque sea side town on the North Sea. It is a popular resort town in the summer and is cold and foggy and barren by Fall and Winter. I did some walking around, but it being Sunday, all the shops were closed. The water is calm with only very small waves.
