Europa Park is a massive amazingly awesome theme park in the city of Rust, extremely closer to the French-German Border. It’s quality and excitement is on par with Disneyland, and beats Dland in so many ways. First, the train trip there, and back, + full park admission and a park lunch is less than half the cost of a Dland ticket… …yea. Also it was dang cold all day so in every ride there was little to no waiting at all on some of the most major rides. It is getting close to Halloween so there are decorations all over and actors in scary costumes wandering the park scaring guests, though not to the same extent as Knott’s.
It is a huge park spread out into sections representingndifferent European countrie with theirnown themes. Germany land, Greek land, Spain land, France land, UK land, Iceland land, switzerland land, Austria land, Holland land, Russia land, Italy land, Portugal land and Scandinavia land…and weirdly an Africa land. Each with its own shops themes and rides. I’ll give some quick rundowns of the coolest attractions in some of the lands.
Feel frees to search any of these rides onngoogle for more pictures and info.
For starters, this wasn’t in a ‘land’ but there is a rollercoaster/show based on the animated movie Arthur im Königreich der Minimoys. I don’t know the origin of the movie if thats just the translation but it was a neat spinning coaster that flies through one of the main waiting areas, where you stop at parts to watch animatronics do stuff. It is a tree/cave fairy ride theme thing but it was really cool.
In UK land there is a small maze attraction that is dark inside and you have to sneak over and under lazers to avoid losing points. Also taki g longer lowers your points. Points do nothing.
In Austria land was one of the most innovative rides I’ve been on. It’s a train ride, almost identical to Big Thunder Mountain except Alpine forest themed. But on this you can also wear a full on Virtual Reality headset as you ride allowing you to ride a roller coaster while you follow along on a virtual roller coaster that mimics the moves of the real coaster. You do not just watch a boring screen on the headset, it puts you in the VR world and where you turn your head and look around you see the VR world around you.
Switzerland land has a bobsled type coaster, except there’s no tracks and you are freely sliding down a bobsled track with only momentum and small small edge bumpers keepin the sled from falling off. It had anoter cool coaster heavily alpine themed where you pull forward and as if pick up by a giant hay fork the cart and section of the track is lifted up in a farm tower to begin the ride.
The Grimm Forest is a cool dark wood themed area with houses and huts and decorations and stuff based on the stories of the brothers Grimm, 2 German fairy tale writers from the 1800’s. It is basically where Disney got all it’s stories from. Snow White, Rapunzel, The Big Bad Wolf, and plenty others all existed 100 years before Disneyland.
Holland land has a ride virtually identical to Pirates of the Caribbean, and I mean it is almost te exact same damn thing, minus caves at the beginning. It is called Piraten in Batavia, Batavia sed to be what is now Indonesia, so it is regular Anglo pirates who have invaded south east Asia, its the the under ground ship and fort fight, the auction of women, the looting of a town, the burning of the town, fire in windows, characters chasing eachothr in circles exactly like the PotC ride, and also ends with a ride between a stage and restaurant, where a spectacular performance was going on. Videos below.
France land had an observation tower…that was okay.
Russia land has a cool coaster that has spinning carts as you go around and around up and up around a large space ship in a dark tower before coming outside for a reular ride. Outside there is also the real Russian Mir space station which on display you can go though.
Greece land has a cool half-roller coaster and half water ride boat ride thing, starts as a coaster with drops and turns, and ends with a ridethrough the lake. It also has a weird attraction called Fluch der Kassandra, or Curse of Cassandra. You sit in rows that rocks forward and backwards while the whole room spins around you completely, it is pretty trippy. It also has a Hunt for Atlantis, and underwater Atlantis theme blaster ride, where you gain pointns shooting at targets, just like Buzz Lightyear in Dland.
Nothing real exciting in Spain land or Portugal land.
Iceland land was cool, it has Wodan (Odin) a huge wooden roller coaster, way better than Ghost Rider.
Nordic land was cool, but only a couple minor attractions.
Africa land had a cool…unm lake cruise, just like the jungle river cruise, but this was through a lake.
They only missing land would be USA land which would be bigger and better than all the others.
NOTE: I took so many pictures I will try to add more pictures and videos later. I will update in next post and provide link, there was just too much cool stuff, and it is quite late.
Check back again soon. There was so much amazing stuff, I took (as with every other post on here) far far far more pictures tha. What is posted, so if anyone wants we can work out a way to send all my pictures, or at least pictures here in Europa Park. I did plan to take ride videos to give everyone the chance to see the ride first hand from home, but I decided I would rather be in the moment and enjoy, (and also not risk damaging/losing my camera; let alone all 5600 of my pictures).
