Going to keep this one short. Planning trains and stays and lining up schedules on the ago is quite exhausting. Especially when a lot of guess work is involved.
Started off the day going to the Palace of Justice, where all the captured leaders of the Nazi party were put on trial. Unfortunately the main court room 600 where it all happened was closed. The building is still used as a courthouse today. I managed to snap a picture from a window above though. I think.
Next, back in the old town was St. Lorenz church, which had the weirdest film reel set up ever. It is an old church but had a projector being fed film that was suspended way the hell up and bounced around edges and corners of pulleys and the like in one huge overhead loop. It ws projecting some small video on to a statue which made it even harder to see. This in itself w as the hi-light of the day…after the palace of justice, and medieval dungeon.
Went to check out the old medieval town executioner’s home on an island splitting the river. T’was closed. It’s called the ‘Henkerhaus’.
Next was the super neat old medieval dungeons, cells and torture chambers underground under the old town hall.
Finally was the natural history museum. It was cool, but not special.
The end. Oh there was also some weird hungerstrike demonstration/event thing going on.
